We’ll Find a Way Together

Everyone knows that this week we’ve received news that makes an already bad economic situation worse.  The plants at Willow Run will be closing.  This, and the other shutdowns, will have damaging consequences for our communities, and all individuals and families of our area.  These are difficult and discouraging days.

It is not the end, through.  It may feel like things are shutting down all around.  There are indeed more examples than one wants to count – factories, churches, schools, even the Ann Arbor News.  But there are still people living here.

Some people living here have faced situations like this before.  Some people haven't, and may feel terrified, unprepared.  But that is what is so important about sticking together.  We can learn from those who have suffered, and we can support one another now.

It is difficult to face shut downs.  But we need not despair.  As long as there are people who are willing to stand together and find a way – well, nothing can shut that down.
