JUBILEE- MONTH/DATE EVENT July 17-19 Camping August 9 St. Mark Picnic/Pig Roast September 19 Progressive Dinner October 25 Open House/Museum November 21 Catered Celebration Dinner December 13 Jubilee Memento/ Coffee Hour *Monthly* Art work by Bev Bryant
SEPTEMBER JUBILEE EVENT On Saturday evening, September 19, we will be doing a Progressive Dinner. Briefly, for those who are not familiar with this, we travel from home to home to eat. We anticipate enough people wanting to take part to have two groups of 10-12 meeting at three homes (needing 6 homes to host). We plan to have the entree' at the church. Please think about being a part of this event. Would you like to be a Host/Hostess home? Help prepare food? or just come and eat? The first home would have appetizers and drinks, second home soup and salad, third is church for main course and last home for dessert. Our goal is to have an idea of how many would attend and who might host/prepare food by the last week of July. Contact Karen or Joani for questions or to volunteer.
“SERVING GOD AND COMMUNITY FOR 50 YEARS” Our Jubilee Ice Cream Social was a huge success. The toppings were phenomenal! A great time was had by all. Our next event is the Jubilee Campout at the Port Huron KOA, July 17-18-19! Everyone is encouraged to participate in the St. Mark 50-Year Jubilee Celebration. See ya next month with an update on the Campout!!Check out the pictures on the Jubilee board of the different events being held. Stay tuned for upcoming events and news on the 50 YEAR JUBILEE!!
The Used Book Sale sponsored by the Women's Group was very successful. The Women"s Group sold $221.25 worth of books. I want to thank everyone who donated books for the Used Book Sale. Without you, the sale could not have taken place. I also want to thank those women that helped with the book sale - Tiffany Kelly, Betty Saunders, Karen O'Clair, Sandy Engel, Laurie Gable, Miriam Schrock, Joani Laginess, Rhonda McQuiston, and Nancy Wallman. Brian Gable's help was appreciated in setting up the book sale and tearing it down. A special thank you goes out to our cashier Sydney Gable and her assistants, Brock, Brennan and Braylynn Kelly. JUBILEE MEMORIAL What would you like to see on a garden stone to commemorate our Jubilee year? Our Please submit your ideas no later than August 16th. Thanks! Joani Laginess | It was suggested by several members (thanks, Bill and Kim!) that we consider buying something for the church in honor of our Jubilee year. The executive committee agrees and we’ve decided that a garden stone in our recently weeded and mulched garden would be a beautiful addition for this year and many years to come. BUT, we need your ideas!! Please submit what you’d like to see on a garden stone to memorialize our Jubilee year on the form below. The committee will pick our top 3 or 4 submissions and bring it to a congregational vote. Also, we’ll be soliciting donations towards the memorial in the near future. Please, submit what you’d like to see on a garden stone. JUBILEE MEMORIAL GARDEN STONE: What would you like to see on a garden stone to commemorate our Jubilee year? Our mission statement? Just dates? “Jubilee”??? Please submit your idea. All entries (yes, you can do more than one) can be placed in Joani Laginess’s mailbox. _____________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________ Please submit your ideas no later than August 16th.
