3RD BISHOP'S FORUM

The Southeast Michigan Synod is hosting the third of four forums on the recently adopted ELCA Social Statement on Human Sexuality as well as the new ministry policies. These forums are intended to serve a three-fold purpose: • To make sure all who attend have accurate information about what was actually decided by the 2009 Churchwide Assembly, particularly around issues of sexuality and ELCA ministry policies. • To provide a safe environment for everyone who wants to express themselves on the issues regardless of one’s personal stance. ALL ARE WELCOME! • To hear from Bishop Marsh as to how we as a synod will move forward in the face of the Churchwide Assembly decisions. The third forum is scheduled for 3P.M.,Sunday, February 28th, at Trinity Lutheran (http://www.trinityaa.org/) in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Trinity is located at 1400 W. Stadium Blvd.—near Ann Arbor Pioneer High School and the University of Michigan Stadium. It is anticipated that ELCA members representing a variety of views will be present at the forum.

The Sunday School will be performing the story of Moses parting the Red Sea during the Easter Vigil, Saturday, April 3rd, 7pm.  Sunday School Parents - we'll be practicing for the skit during Sunday School in the month of March. We'd love to have all the children participate and join in this very special service.  We hope to see everyone there!

Thanks!

Cynthia Pulford

Sunday School Superintendent

YOUTH GROUP

Thank you to everybody who attended the YOUTH'S ANNUAL SPAGHETTI DINNER.  We had around 70 people attend.  There was lots of great food and delicious baked goods.  All the money earned ($444.50) will go towards youth activities.

The Youth will be working with the Men's group in April for a community activity.  Look for more details to come.

Thanks,

Kris

Junior Youth

Jr Youth is for kids in 1st - 5th grade. We get together and have loads of fun!

FIRST COMMUNION

We are developing a series of classes for kids fifth grade and younger who are not yet communing.

Several years ago, our Council determined that kids didn’t have to wait until fifth grade to commune, but could begin (after taking the class) when their parents chose.  If you would like for your child to participate, please let Pastor know so that the classes can be scheduled at the best possible time.

CHOIR

Terry Karns has agreed to lead the choir, and Miriam will be accompanying the choir on the keyboard. Choir meets the first and third Sundays of each month at 9:30 am and will sing on those days. You and invited and encouraged to join us.
